n8n alternative

n8n's power, without the docker-compose.

n8n is excellent if you want self-host or open source. If you don't — TinyCommand is hosted out of the box, and bundles the forms, database, agents, and email those workflows need.

No infra to maintain · Hosted free tier · Predictable Pro at $49 (no €50 → €667 jump)

Why teams switch

Three things n8n structurally can’t do.

Hosted out of the box

n8n Community is genuinely free — if you're willing to run Docker, update it, monitor it, back it up. TinyCommand is hosted; you spend zero time on infrastructure.

Forms, database, email — in the workflow

n8n connects to your forms (Typeform), database (Airtable), and email (Mailchimp). TinyCommand IS them. The workflow doesn't 'integrate' with these — they're already there.

Pricing without the cliff

n8n Cloud's biggest gripe: Pro is €50, Business is €667. No middle. TinyCommand Pro is $49 — same Pro-tier capability without the 13× jump to the next plan.

Where it fits

n8n is the workflow engine. TinyCommand is the workflow engine plus what it operates on.

Same Pro-tier shape of automation, plus the forms, DB, agents, and email those workflows need — without each being its own integration.

Same lead-routing workflow n8n self-hosters build — without spinning up a server. Form → enrich → score → CRM → Slack, all in one product.

API-orchestration pipeline

AI agent on email triage

Inbound email → agent classifies + drafts a response → human approves in Slack → send. Same shape as n8n agent workflows, with built-in forms/DB/email surrounding it.

FAQ

Questions worth asking before you switch.

Should I use TinyCommand or n8n?

+

n8n is excellent if (a) you need self-hosting (compliance, air-gapped, data-residency), (b) you want open source / no vendor lock-in, or (c) you're a developer who lives in code and treats workflows as infrastructure. TinyCommand is the better call if you want the workflow PLUS the forms, database, agents, and email — without running infrastructure. Most teams under 100 people don't need self-host; they just don't want to maintain it.

Why isn't TinyCommand self-hostable?

+

It's a product decision. Hosting ourselves lets us ship faster, keep prices low, and tightly integrate the five products. Self-host is a real moat for n8n; we're not trying to compete there. If you specifically need self-host, n8n is the right tool.

Can I import my n8n workflows?

+

Partially — connect your n8n instance and we import the workflow structure. JS-heavy nodes need manual conversion since the runtime is different. Our team handles those in your first week.

Does TinyCommand have code nodes like n8n?

+

Yes — JavaScript step type with the same shape (input from previous step, return value for next step). Python coming soon. n8n's code experience is more polished today, especially around debugging — that's their devs-first DNA.

What about n8n's free tier — it's unlimited self-host.

+

True — n8n Community is genuinely free if you're willing to run Docker. The cost is the time you spend maintaining it, updating it, monitoring it, backing it up. TinyCommand's free hosted tier is the trade: pay nothing, but we run the infra.

n8n Cloud's pricing jumps from €50 Pro to €667 Business. What's the equivalent in TinyCommand?

+

We don't have that gap. Free → Pro $49 → Enterprise (custom). The €50 → €667 jump is one of the bigger criticisms of n8n Cloud — there's no mid-tier for growing teams. Our Pro plan handles teams that would max out n8n Pro without forcing them into the Business tier.

Open source — what if TinyCommand goes away?

+

Valid concern with any hosted tool. Two answers: (1) all your data exports cleanly (tables → CSV/SQL, workflows → JSON, etc.); (2) for true insurance against vendor risk, n8n self-host is the right call. Most teams accept hosted-vendor risk for SaaS like Slack, Notion, GitHub — TinyCommand sits in the same category.

Best of both: can I use TinyCommand and n8n together?

+

Yes — n8n can hit TinyCommand's APIs (forms, tables, email) as just another integration. Some teams use n8n self-host for dev-heavy workflows and TinyCommand for everything else.

Workflows without the self-host tax. Bundle without the n8n Cloud gap.

Hosted from day one. $49/mo Pro covers what n8n Cloud Pro does — plus the data layer.
